At Jacaranda Academy we believe it is our responsibility to provide consistently superior education at an affordable price. In meeting these objectives everything we do must be of high quality. We follow a progressive curriculum, which builds on learners’ prior knowledge, extends their existing knowledge, develops skills and encourages acceptable values. This will ensure that learners are equipped with skills for life.
As a community of educators, learners and parents at Jacaranda Academy our objectives are:
to take a shared responsibility towards the child
to ensure that effective learning and teaching takes place
to ensure that everyone, whether learners, parents or staff are treated with respect
Our staff comprises a team of well-trained, dedicated professionals, who strive to ensure that all our learners reach their full potential. We recognize that each child is unique and attempt to include a variety of teaching and learning styles. Classes are kept small so that learners can receive individual attention.
Jacaranda Academy will provide an integrated child- centered education, whereby the learner is developed holistically.
Although we are an Independent Privately Owned learning institution, we have based our curriculum on the National (CAPS) Curriculum. This Curriculum builds on the vision and values of our Constitution and Curriculum 2005, which is based on Outcomes Based Education.
Our Curriculum Develops:
A high level of knowledge and skills for all learners.
Clarity and Accessibility.
Progression and Integration.
Social justice, human rights and inclusivity.
Progress is monitored by means of regular assessments and examinations so that decisions can be made about the best ways to further learning.
Extra tuition is offered to students whom the educators believe may be in need of extra- support.
Group support is also offered for students approaching tests or examinations.
